Obvio! is Brazilian manufacturer that specializes in micocars. Ovio!’s 2 main models are the 828 and 012. They were designed for distribution by the ZAP Company. Obvio! cars us a mid-engine design and feature a continuously variable transmission. The transmissions are specially designed so that they can be switched to replicate a 6 speed gearbox. The engines are 4 cylinder Tritecs with 115 horsepower and use 86 kw of power. There are also higher-powered versions up to 190 kw.
These are vehicles built for high performance in urban settings and they run on a mix of electric and fuel. They can run on alcohol, gasoline, or a mixture of the two, and eventually Obvio! plans to release an all electric model. The bench seating can accommodate 3 people.
The 828 model was a design which was first created by Dacon and was modeled after Porsche vehicles as Porsche was the original parent company of Dacon. After 1994 the 828 was rebranded under the Obvio! label. The body is composed of a unique series of elipses and is lightweight yet durable. The basic version retails for 14,000 in the United States.
For an additional price it can be upgraded with air conditioning, invididual seats, power windows mirrors and doors, leather seats, and an onboard computer. There is an all-electric model of the 828 in development which will sell for just under $50,000.
